All the trim is real dirty and faded, so I\'ll probably replace it. I want to go with Euro ellipsoids and upgrade to HID.
Taken: Dec 27, 2006
First thing done to the exterior was to remove the nasty old roundels and grommets.
I haope I\'ll be able to clean up the wheels OK, because they will probably be my winter wheels. For the rest of the year, I want some black basket weaves or cross spokes with a polsihed lip and hardware.
I have all sorts of room to work on this car. The bench, drawers, and cabinets in the background will mostly be cleared out/off for me to use.
I have to replace the antenna, it was broken when we got it. Since then it has had the uber-rare German-spec coat hanger antenna option, until it fell off when I brushed the snow off it.
It opens, but it\'s kind of sticky, it could operate smoother.
I would like to replace these huge early style aluminum bumpers with later style plastic bumpers.
I wouldn\'t mind having smoked tails, either.
Just recently pushed into the shop.
Panel lines are straight and even for the most part, the hood is a little off kilter.
The body is straight and there is no major damage, except for faded trim and oxidized paint.
The major damage is to the paint, but there are a couple spots that will require attention. This part of the fender is crushed and rusted.
The mirrors, like everything else, are in need of replacement.
The old roundels will be replaced with new one, but instead of blue inserts they will be carbon fiber.
The paint on the hood, roof, and trunk is badly damaged.
There is a wide dent on the roof right next to a rusted split in the paint.
The sunroof is from another car, wasnf\'t replaced since we\'ve owned it, but you can tell from the different shade of paint. The seals are cracked, worn, or missing but amazingly it hasn\'t leaked.
They stick out so far! For the front I want to get M Tech II, but for the rear OEM is fine.
When the body gets repainted, I want to have the windshields taken out so the paint won\'t peel around the edges. Also, I can replace the old seals, which have turned pink over time.
When we first got the car, I had never seen a forward opening hood. Despite how inconvenient they can sometimes be, I still love it.
You can really see the condition the paint is in here. Judging form the run pattern, I think this car was left out for a long time with the hood up.
